Wireless Internet with WiMAX

WiMAX is as a standards-based technology enabling the delivery of last mile wireless broadband access as an alternative to cable and DSL. WiMAX means Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access. WiMAX technology is based on the IEEE 802.16 standard (also called Broadband Wireless Access). The name "WiMAX" was created by the WiMAX Forum , which was formed in June 2001 to promote conformity and interoperability of the standard.

Throughout the Americas, the 3300-3800 MHz spectrum is licensed for broadband wireless access usage. In the USA and Canada, the 3650-3700 MHz band has been opened for terrestrial wireless broadband operations.

No consumer devices will operate in this band which means there is a low likelihood of interference. In addition, the license holders are obligated to provide location information to the FCC or Industry Canada so potential interference can be solved through cooperation.
Alliance Corporation works with the worlds’ leading WiMAX vendors to supply technology that can provide up to 10 Mbps to each subscriber. Our manufacturers, Redline Communications and Alvarion , were first to market with WiMAX certified equipment and they continue to lead in product development.
