 WiMAX is as a standards-based technology enabling the delivery of last mile wireless broadband access as an alternative to cable and DSL. WiMAX means Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access. In addition, the license holders are obligated to provide location information to the FCC or Industry Canada so potential interference can be solved through cooperation.
