Westell ProtectLinkV2 Fiber DAS HE (headend) and RE (remote end) units

Westell’s ProtectLinkV2 Fiber DAS headend (HE) and remote end (RE) units enable reliable fiber-to-RF conversion and communication between headend and remote units in public safety DAS deployments.

The ProtectLinkV2 Fiber HE connects to existing bi-directional amplifiers (BDAs) using low-level RF uplink and downlink coax connections. It then distributes signals over single-mode fiber to remote units, extending coverage efficiently across a building or campus.

Each HE supports up to four remote units and allows expansion through daisy chaining via dual RS-485 ports, enabling scalable system growth.

Designed for UHF and VHF public safety applications, ProtectLinkV2 integrates seamlessly with BDAs and optical remote units (ORUs) to deliver reliable fiber-based signal distribution.
